The situation seems pretty grim...there are about 80 k indian students
coming to the US every year in total about 250-350 k including all international students (I assume) and at least 50% of them want to work after graduation (I assume)..with the h1 cap at 65K(lot of them taken away by consultants) ...and the lots of school funding squeezed because of the war..Most students (I assume) study with no AID hoping to get a job to repay some of the loan/ father's money...
I think prospective students need to know the real situation out here..before
they make a choice of studying here.

You will be extremely lucky to get any student loans without a US citizen/GC co-signer. I tried it in 2005 and had to get a co-signer. Now with economy tanking it will be tough sell without a co-signer. So do not waste lot of time in searching for student loans in US.
As for credit cards, new laws passed by congress will not come into effect until July 2010. So until then credit card companies can screw you left and right. That beast is best not to deal with. Do not trust any lifetime APRs or anything from credit card companies. They can jack up your rates for no reason. There are no laws protecting consumers. Do not become another statistics in their game. No amount of credit card arbitrage justifies the time it needs.
You can try HELOC if you have equity in your house.
In my opinion even if you are paying 13.5%, it is best to keep student loans from banks. You can put them in deferment 6months post graduation or until you find a job. If you lose a job then you can get extension of deferment later down the road. The advantages associated with student loans are priceless. The money you will save by trying something different might not be your one month salary. In short not worth the headache.

I am not sure if my previous employer will support, even i am not sure if they have sent a I-140 cancellation request to USCIS.
Can i file 485 through my current employer based on previously approved I-140 as my current I-140 has priority date recapture request.
If your former employer will not support your GC application and you are not even sure if they already cancelled your 140, then you CANNOT file 485 based on that 140.
As chennai already advised you may have your 140 premium processed.
However, reading back your origiinal post I don't think you can file 485 until your new 140 is approved since you are porting PD. So your PD must be ported to the new 140 successfully and the PD current before you can submit 485. Sorry for the initial confusion.

I like them all Gary, but agree with Chris about the cloning out that bright white rock , or whatever it is, in the first one. Also, unless you've been there before, it's difficult to capture the enormity of those rocks. The footpath catches my eye in the second photo which gives some perspective on where you are positioned. It looks like you are a quite a bit above and working your way down to the path. The 3rd pic looks like a crop? of the upper-center of the 2nd pic? And lastly, can I apply for a job where you work so I can travel too!

There may be two observations in this.
1. They may try to bring CIR one more time and pass in Senate or
2.They will make alive CIR talks till this year end. This will make sure that other piece meal bills like Skil, Agricultural jobs bill will not be brought for debate till CIR is alive

Guys, Tell me something�If in 2009 total 2K people applied for 485 and the trend continues in 2010, don�t you think that all of EB3 will get their
GC�s in next 2 years??
There are total 75K pending EB2 including India, China. Assuming in 2009 there will be 20K GC�s filed, it still leaves 45-50K visas for EB3 for 2009-10.
Then next year onwards there should be sufficient visas to remove remaining backlog of 100K EB3.
What do you guys think?

Brief Description of my Case Joined Vision Systems Group INC,(VSGInc), Southplains Field, NJ in the year March 2003. My H1B was transferred to VSG Inc from my previous company which got merged with another company. VSG Inc filed my Labor Certification in 2003 (EB3) on Dec 23,2003 which has gone to Back Log Center, Harrisburg, PA and got approved only in Dec, 2006. In July 2006 VSG Inc, filed PERM under EB2 and got approved and filed I140 under EB2. But when USCIS sent RFE, my company has withdrawn the I140 without responding to RFE. In July 2007, during 2007 visa fiasco, VSG Inc filed I140 electronically, and I485 and other papers concurrently in July 02, 2007. Got the receipt notices for I140 dated 07-02-2007 and for I485 and others on 06-05-2008. Received EAD and travel docs in July 2008. My I140 is still pending at Nebraska Service center as on date. When contacted trough the Local Congress Man, Dept. Of Home land Security replied on Feb 09, 2009 as follows: �The processing of I-140 has been delayed, not yet ready for decision as it has been selected for extended security review, independent of FBI name check and fingerprints. Until the review is completed, we cannot move forward on this case. We will make every effort to make a decision on this case as soon as the review is complete. However, we have contacted the security team POC to see if this case can be reviewed to see if it can be moved for adjudication.� VISION SYSTEMS GROUP, INC., a New Jersey Domestic Profit Corporation, with a branch office in Coon Rapids, Iowa, was also indicted in a ten count federal indictment that included one count of conspiracy, eight counts of mail fraud, and one count of �Notice of Forfeiture� in the amount of $7,400,000. For instance my son has graduated college and now working, paying taxes and contributing to the US economy. And I am sure that most of you here who have college age kids are sending them to colleges and sometimes even paying out-of-state tuition to boot.

For the record I do not have a problem. Employer is a very large company and I have worked in the same location for close to 10 years with a well maintained LCA history. So chill. My eyes are wide open in matters important to me.
The reason for being pissed is that these bull issues are manufactured for a commercial reason (by ) and with the express purpose to distract from the main and important goals for advocacy to solve this frustrating retrogession problem.
You on the other hand is a desperate fool on someone's illegitimate (from a moral perspective) payroll. Seriously man have some shame. BTW Are you and EASTINDIA the same person? You sound like you are.
