I think USCIS should be blamed because all those previous years visa numbers which are lost because they can't adjudicate the cases on time. We invested our time, resource and money for each and every step. We pay social security and taxes to run the economy. Most of us are here in "UNKNOWN" status but we are called resident and spent many many years.
I have mixed feeling on if government/congress is serious about fixing this issue because 10 years doesn't sound very positive.
It looks like immigration issue is hen that give golden egg ($ for the economy) Paper wok, Attorney frees postal fees gov fess etc. Does anyone would like to fix it?
Please share your thought.
1) Will the green card be worth after 10 years?
2) Is there any grantee this mess will be cleared in 10 Years?
3) Is time spent in path to immigration will be joyful and peaceful?
4) The time away from back home Close family and you may have already missed your nearest and dearest family function. your child niece, nephew and other close relative bonding that your had when you'r child and had all this which you may be sacrifice for the path to immigration
Please rethink what important and how to get an attention from the right people

I have a Green card and also my wife has GC .My wife is expected to deliver a baby.Shw wants the delivery to be in India and then come back...in that case what VISA will the new baby have to apply US when my wife returns back to US.
Appreciate your help in this regard.
She has come back to US before child turns 2 and it must be their first trip to US. No visa is needed for child and child will be provided green card on arrival.
You need to carry documenation with you as not all airlines are aware of this rule that child can travel without visa.
Again, it must be their trip back to US after child's birth.

Thanks, Kevin. I'm somewhat embarassed, as I did not use any lighting setup, so your attribution of hard work is, I fear, a little misplaced. I have this house with full floor-to-ceiling windows, and was using natural morning light, diffused by the fog that has hung over the bay for the last week in the AM. I used the camera's meter, either spot or center weighted, with manual bracketing when I thought that was insufficient, as was the case with the wreath & red roses.
...I would be interested in knowing the shooting parameters of these shots, what lenses used, etc...
I was using the 1DMII, and three lenses; the 50mm f/1.8, 100mm f/2.8 Macro, and my newly purchased 16-35mm f/2.8L. Most important was the Manfrotto tripod that allows nearly infinite positioning flexibility. As I said before, I made a cheesy PVC pipe frame and welders clips to hang backgrounds (<10 min fabrication time, <$10). All cases used low f stops, 2-6, & long exposures at low ISO for better quality. I was using the low f stops to help hide the imprefections in the background and give the soft focus effect the customer is looking for.

Now, after the I485 receipt comes back, if she leaves her job, will she be in status (or does she need to move to H4? I'll stay on H1 and won't invoke EAD unless necessary). My understanding is, with the receipt, she is in status no matter what (unless the I485 gets denied).

My drivers license is expiring in October as well as my H-1B. My company has applied for H-1B renewal in July and it seems it will not get renewed before end of October. I have an approved I-140. Does anyone know if I can get my license renewed without the new H-1B approval notice in hand? Thanks everyone in advance.

You can use the services of some CPA since you have so many changes in status and deductions to claim plus filing of ITIN for your wife. When I changed status from F1- H1 I used the CPA since I was not sure if I would be able to do it right. Better to go to an experienced CPA rather than H&R block kind of people. Good information but I feel that it doesn't matter anymore. Even if your visa number is up, your application will probably still sit in a warehouse while the acting director or whomever, keeps using the FBI namecheck backlogs to blind everyone of their inefficiency. :( Frustrated to a point of numbness.

Ideally you are supposed to apply ur H1B atleast before 1 month, at the same time you can apply ur H1B extension within 45 days after expiry date with a genuine reason.
where did you see these 30/45 days numbers? you can apply an H1 extension upto 180 days in advance of the expiry of your current H1 (basically 180 days before the new start-date)
